Wheelchair-Accessible Route at Festival Area
The Soiva Metsä festival area offers wheelchair-accessible routes to many performances. However, some events are located in difficult-to-navigate terrain. The paths in Soivan Metsä are at times hilly and steep, and wheelchair users are advised to have an assistant, especially on more challenging sections.
Route from the Summer Theater Hut
A gravel path starts from the summer theater hut, leading toward the Metsälava, Jyrkkälava, and Suppakuoppa stages.
Suppakuoppa Stages
The easiest route to the Suppakuoppa stages begins at the Summer Theater and heads toward Soiva Metsä. After the Soiva Metsä information sign, the path ascends uphill and turns right back toward the summer theater. From there, a pine-needle-covered path is slightly uneven with some uphill and downhill sections. However, reaching the Suppakuoppa stages is relatively manageable with a wheelchair.
Note: The road next to the summer theater leading to the Suppakuoppa stages is more challenging due to soft sand and a steep, rocky section.
Metsälava and Jyrkkälava Stages
To reach the Metsälava and Jyrkkälava stages, follow the gravel path from the hut and turn left onto a trail with uphill and downhill sections. These hills are quite steep, so navigating with a wheelchair requires strength and a capable assistant.
Returning from Jyrkkälava Stage
It is recommended to return to the Summer Theatre hut from the Jyrkkälava stage via the same route, as the alternative path on the other side of the forest includes a very steep hill that is inaccessible for wheelchairs.
Assistance Available
The Soiva Metsä festival staff and volunteers are available to assist with navigating the routes. They can be identified by their STAFF badges.
